Alexandre Dossin was awarded First Prize and the Special Prize for his performance of J.J.Castro's Sonatina Espanola in the 2nd Martha Argerich International Piano Competition. The jury was presided by Martha Argerich, and had the participation of Gyorgy Sandor, Eduardo Delgado, Akiko Ebi and Alexis Golovin. The competition was held in the Colon Theatre in Buenos Aires: the three first rounds in the Salon Dourado, and the final in the principal hall. The competitors performed two solo recitals, a piano trio and one concerto (out of two that were prepared for the competition). Alexandre Dossin performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto no. 5 in the final round with the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ligia Amadio.

In the same week he performed the Schumann Concerto at the opening of the Martha Argerich Festival (09.04) with the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra under the conducting of Charles Dutoit. The next day he performed the Sonatina Espanola, and on 09.12 the Schumann Concerto with the Mendoza Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ligia Amadio.
